Pittsburgh Steelers Masquerade As Gotham Rogues In New Batman Movie

On Saturday afternoon, thousands of football fans filled the stands at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh to watch their beloved team, the Gotham Rogues, face off against...wait a sec.

The Gotham WHAT??

Turns out that filming for the new (and final installment) Batman movie (The Dark Knight Rises) took place at Heinz Field, with about a dozen actual Steelers players on hand to play the parts of Gothan Rogues players.

The Steelers that participated included Ben Roethlisberger, Hines Ward, Willie Colon, Maurkice Pouncey, Mike Wallace, Heath Miller, Aaron Smith, Ryan Clark, Troy Polamalu, James Farrior and Casey Hampton.

Bill Cowher, the former Steelers coach, was on the sidelines as Head Coach for the Rogues.

A member of the ownership group of the Steelers, Thomas Tull, is an executive producer on the Batman movie and helped to bring it to Pittsburgh for filming.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 18, 2013.
