Knowshon Moreno Arrested For DUI, Career Over In Denver?

KDVR in Denver is reporting that Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno was arrested on drunk driving chargers on February 1.  He was pulled over in a Bentley with the license plate "Sauced."  Apparently he was going 70 in a 45 mph construction zone on I-25 (the main highway going north-south in Denver).

Moreno has had a difficult three years in Denver, and this DUI charge won't help his case.  Drafted by Josh McDaniels in the first round, Moreno has been largely a disappointment in Denver.  By far his best year was his first when he rushed for 947 yards.

In the past two years injuries have limited his effectiveness.  This past year, Moreno was pretty much an afterthought even before he was tore his ACL in the game against Kansas City on November 17.  Under John Fox's new offensive system, he had only gained 179 yards on 37 rushing attempts as Willis McGahee took his starting job.

Moreno is heading into an uncertain year with the Broncos in 2012.  Coming off an ACL injury and trying to fit in to this new hard-charging rushing offense of Denver's won't be easy.  He certainly isn't making things easy on himself by getting arrested.  He is making it easy for the Broncos to release him.
