John Isner Wins Hall of Fame Tennis Championship

The only bright spot in the American men's tennis world yesterday (besides the induction of Andre Agassi into the International Tennis Hall of Fame) was the victory of John Isner over Olivier Rochus (6-3, 7-6) in the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport, Rhode Island.

Isner became the first #1-seed in the history of the Hall of Fame tournament to actually win it.

Towering over his 5'6" opponent, the 6'9" Isner used an overpowering service game (22 Aces in two sets) to defeat Rochus.

This is the second ATP title for Isner, with the first coming in Aucklund in 2010.

Congrations to John Isner (Go Dawgs!!), with  hope that he will continue to be a bright spot in the American tennis scene.
