Wimbledon To Move to ESPN, No More Breakfast at Wimbledon on NBC

After 43 years, NBC is losing its broadcast rights to Wimbledon, who is currently negotiating with ESPN to bring the tournament in its entirety to the sports network.

ESPN had been broadcasting select matches in the earlier rounds of the tournament, and then handed coverage over to NBC once the semi-final matches were reached.

ESPN did a good job with the matches that it had this year, and with the way it likes to self-promote its programming, we should see an avalanche of tennis promotion and coverage next year.

John McEnroe should, at some point, sign with ESPN to be the color analyst for the top matches.  He has worked with ESPN before at the US Open, but he also does some work for the BBC.

A Wimbledon without NBC coverage will be strange, but without John McEnroe it's just not right.
