Maurice Clarett has been re-signed by the Omaha Nighthawks of the UFL to play in their 2011 season.
The former Ohio State star played last year for the Nighthawks, his first game action since his freshman season at Ohio State in 2002. He had spent the previous 3 and 1/2 years in prison serving a sentence for robbery and carrying concealed weapons.
In his first year with the UFL, playing backup at running back to Ahman Green, he had 37 rushes for 154 yards and one touchdown in eight games.
Clarett should see more playing opportunities this year, as his competition consists of Matt Asiata (Utah), John Griffin (UMass), and Shaud Williams (Alabama).
