Mardy Fish and the Rest of the U.S. Davis Cup Team In Action Against Spain July 8-10

Quarterfinal action for the Davis Cup picks up quickly after Wimbledon, with matches scheduled around the world from July 8-10.

The United States is hosting its Cup matches against Spain in Austin, Texas, and will field a team consisting of Mardy Fish (9), Andy Roddick (10), and the Bryan brothers (1 in Doubles).

Spain is fielding a team that includes David Ferrer (7), David Velasco (22), Feliciano Lopez (44), and Marcel Granollers (48).  Thankfully, #2-ranked player in the world, Rafael Nadal, has not been included in this roster.

The United States has an overall record in Davis Cup matches against Spain of 5-4, with the last four matches played in the United States.  The US hasn't lost a Davis Cup match played on home soil since 2005.

The winner of this quarterfinal round will go on to face the winner of Germany-France in mid-September.
