"There's so much influence from the Latin environment that has to be reflected in the national team," Klinsmann said.

Klinsmann Releases US Roster For Mexico Match; Four Primera Division Starters on US Roster
Head Coach Juergen Klinsmann today released the roster for the friendly match against USA and Mexico next week on August 10. The roster includes a mix of veterans and younger players that reflect some of the new direction in the national team that Klinsmann discussed at his introductory press conference.
Philadelphia Eagles' Mike Patterson has AVM - An Explanation Of Why He Should Now Retire
The Philadelphia Eagles' Dream Team season got a dose of reality yesterday when defensive tackle Mike Patterson was diagnosed with AVM - Atrioventricular malformation. The following is an explanation of what it is, and why Patterson might have to retire.
An AVM is a congenital abnormality of the blood vessels where the normal communication of blood from arteries to veins is abnormal. In a normal brain, arteries take blood away from the heart and into the brain. As the arteries go deeper into the brain tissue, they become smaller and smaller and eventually turn into tiny vessels called capillaries. The capillaries then collect the blood into more blood vessels called veins that then take the blood back to the heart.

Future World Cup Stars? Four Young American Soccer Players You Need To Know
One of the more exciting aspects to Juergen Klinsmann taking over the American Men's National Soccer team is the fresh look he will give to all the players. There hasn't been a lot of change in the roster of the team over the past few years, despite the aging.
Freddy Adu's selection to the Gold Cup roster aside, former coach Bob Bradley seemed reluctant to give chances to the youngest players in the roster pool. As a result, you could see on the field the declining speed, especially on defense. Expect that to change, especially after the Summer Olympics in London next year.

Broncos Feeling Frustration Over Quarterback Controversy: Tebow or Orton?
A week into training camp, and Kyle Orton is still in Denver, running the first team offense. However, it seems that the delay in finding a trade partner for Orton is beginning to ruffle some feathers in the Mile High City.
It doesn't help when ESPN analyst Merrill Hoge sends out multiple tweets detailing Tebow's inaccurate throws at camp and how much better Orton is. Hoge is a bit of a blowhard, though, so I don't take his comments that seriously.

Hope Solo's Star Continues To Rise: Signs Deal With Gatorade
Even though she has yet to play a game following the World Cup, US Women's National Team Goalie Hope Solo is continuing to stay in the public eye.
Turning 30 this week, Solo has been in the news recently for her recent non-soccer activities. On Sunday, she drove the pacecar for Nascar's Brickyard 400.

World Cup 2014: USA Men's Team Gets Highly Favorable Draw
Even though it's only 2011, preparation for World Cup 2014 qualification is already underway with new head coach Juergen Klinsmann taking the reins of the American team. The entire roster is to be re-evaluated, an entirely new system of play has to be implemented, and there needs to be time for everyone to adjust.

Joey Harrington In Hospital After Being Hit By Car While Biking
Former NFL quarterback and Oregon Duck Joey Harrington was hospitalized yesterday after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle.
The former quarterback was following a bike lane in the city of Portland when it veered back onto the main road. A car, following closely behind Harrington, ran into the back of his bicycle. Thrown up in the air and landing on the hood of the car, Harrington was thrown to the pavement when the panicked driver hit the brakes.

Jason Garrett Insists Dallas Cowboy Rookies Have To Earn Their Star - Seriously, Coach?
It looks like Dallas Cowboy Head Coach Jason Garrett has already started in on the hazing of rookies in running his first NFL training camp. In a move that probably means little to anyone but his boss, Jerry Jones, Garrett has announced that all the rookies in camp will have to earn the right to wear the Star logo on their helmet.
"The star is very important to us," Garrett said after Monday's walkthrough practice. "The star is an international symbol. It's the Dallas Cowboys. And the players hear me say that a lot. The star means something.
"This team has been around 51 years, and it's a great tradition. You have to earn the right to wear that star, and we're very clear with the players about that. Just because you sign with the Dallas Cowboys doesn't mean you earned that thing yet."
What You Should Be Doing During NFL Pre-Season: My Fantasy Football Draft Primer Pt. 3
Many of you fantasy football addicts out there have probably already scheduled your fantasy draft, or will do so very soon. If you have any way to control this, I say STOP!!!
Tip #1 - Don't draft until the last week of pre-season!!
I abhor drafting before the final week of pre-season. It's far too easy for your #1 pick, that star running back everyone says is going to have an awesome season, to tear his ACL within the first 10 days of training camp opening (Jamal Lewis, 2000). Even that stud quarterback predicted to have an All-Pro year could have his knee blown out by a random tackle and miss the entire year (Trent Green, 1999).
